The President of the Algerian Football Federation, Mohamed Raouraoua
Algiers – Hocine Bousaleh
The President of the Algerian Football Federation, Mohamed Raouraoua, declared on Friday that negotiations are taking place with the Brazilian Football Federation to host the stars of Samba team on November 14. This will be on
the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Algerian Football Federation.
The first official for the Algerian football said that the Federation is ready to provide the necessary funds to receive the Brazilian team in Algeria for the anniversary.
Raouraoua explained that the Brazilian side demanded 3 million dollars at the beginning of the current negotiations, which was considered by the Algerian Federation as a big amount and was reduced to 1.5 million dollars, an amount the Presidents of the two countries’ Federations agreed. Raouraoua said: “We cannot afford to pay 3 million dollars, so we succeeded in reducing it to 1.5 million dollars.”
Raouraoua pointed out that this issue will be resolved on the sidelines in the next few days, and will be discussed in Zurich. Raouraoua stated: "July 5 Olympic is the best stadium that can embrace this international friendly meeting."
In another context, the President of the Algerian Football Federation expressed his full satisfaction for the progress of the player in the national team named Wahed Khalilozitch, who saw seven victories and one defeat against Mali since he joined in July 2011.
Raouraoua confirmed that Khalilozitch will remain in the Green Team (the Algerian national football team) till the end of his contract in June 2014, despite the offers he has recently received.
Algeria and Brazil have faced each other three times in football history. All of them ended up with the victory of the Samba team. The last meeting was the first round in the Wold Cup in Mexico in 1986.
