Premier hails ASEAN economic leverage

 A ceremony was held this evening at the Gulf Hotel marking the Golden Jubilee of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa deputized Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al-Khalifa to attend the event.

Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver hosted the ceremony in the presence of senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and invitees.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al-Khalifa conveyed greetings from HRH the Premier to the Philippine leadership for their outstanding efforts to host the ASEAN meeting.

They affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on strengthening relations with the ASEAN states, stressing the importance of collective work to meet the aspirations of states and peoples.

They hailed steadily-growing relations between the two countries in all fields, lauding the Philippines’ development strides achieved.

The Philippine ambassador extended thanks to HRH the Premier for his strenuous efforts to develop bilateral relations, hailing his vision which stresses the importance of strengthening economic relations between the GCC countries and the ASEAN states
