Hundreds of people took part in a fun run organised by Tawam Hospital to increase breast cancer awareness on Friday. It was the fourth annual run. This year the slogan was \"early detection is the best protection\". It was organised in partnership with Bawadi Mall and was the biggest run so far, an official of the hospital said. \"We believe very strongly in the importance of breast cancer awareness and that early detection is the best protection,\" said Gregory Schaffer, CEO of Tawam Hospital. The run began from Bawadi Mall and the course took the participants back to the same venue. The participants were from different nationalities and were given race packs containing T-shirts and caps. Schaffer said the huge public participation in the run demonstrates people\'s awareness and their awareness of obligations to their fellow human beings. The participants were given health-care advice and they also took part in a raffle draw. A dance troupe entertained the runners and Warriors in Pink teams did free henna work promoting the cause to women participants.
