Woman who lost arms to germs goes home

The Georgia woman whose limbs were amputated after she contracted a flesh-eating bacteria has returned home after spending two months in a hospital. Aimee Copeland moved into her parent\'s home, to which a wing had been added just for her, Wednesday, CNN reported. Doctors amputated the 24-year-old\'s hands, a leg and a foot after she developed necrotizing fasciitis following a zip line accident in May. A local contractor, Pulte Homes, donated the 1,956 square foot wing to the Copeland home in Snellville. In addition to a living room, bedroom and bathroom, the addition includes a fitness room, sunroom, study room and three outdoor areas. To accommodate Aimee Copeland\'s disabilities, access ramps, an elevator and guide rails in the bathroom were added. Her father, Andy Copeland, said Aimee had been working hard on her rehabilitation so that she can live as independently as possible. Her exercise routine includes 200 crunches in seven minutes, 600 leg lifts in seven minutes, as well as push-ups, planks and sideplanks. Aimee wanted no part of a van equipped with a wheelchair lift, Copeland wrote on his blog. She wanted to drive herself in a Prius.
