
President of Iraq Fuad Masum met here on Thursday with the US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken, currently visiting Baghdad.
During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing preparations for the retaking the city of Mosul in addition to ways to support stability and reconstruction in the liberated areas and issue of the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The US official reaffirmed his country's commitment to support Iraq and to provide humanitarian aid for the IDPs.
