Envoy of the Prince of Kuwait, State Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah al-Mubarak al-Sabah met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday, media reports said on Tuesday.
Al Sabah, who arrived in Beirut on Monday, has congratulated Lebanese President on his election, as well as extended him with an official invitation to visit Kuwait on behalf of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah.
"We are looking forward to seeing Lebanon in a leading position in the Arab World, so that it should be an exemplar supporter for the Arab system and the peace efforts in the region," he said.
The Kuwaiti envoy is scheduled to hold talks with senior Lebanese figures, including House Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
Lebanon has witnessed a flurry of Arab diplomatic activity, mainly after the election of a president that ended a two-year vacuum at the top state post.
