Mohammed bin Rashid
Dubai - Arab Today

At the Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services, Sheikh Mohammed signed its strategic Roadmap 2016 -2021 which falls in line with the Government of Dubai Strategy 2021 following a presentation on the main features and objectives of the strategy from its Executive Director Khalifa Hassan aldrai.

Sheikh Mohammed also stopped at a number of stands to learn about their achievements, smart applications and innovative programmes and services.

HH toured the stands of Directorate General of Civil Defence, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Statistics Center, International Humanitarian City, Public Prosecution, Roads and Transport Authority, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre.

While stopping at Dubai Customs' stand, HH was introduced to a series of Dubai Customs' new ground-breaking customs initiatives and world-class achievements which have been developed as part of its quest for excellence in service delivery.

He viewed the Smart Inspection Glasses which facilitates and expedites containers’ field inspection, as customs inspectors can browse the customs declaration and x-ray images of the shipment at hand, as well as define its risk level.

This year’s internationalized edition is the largest so far, with exhibitors expected from 40 government entities across 20 countries around the world. They will showcase their latest government achievements in serving customers and the public. HH also reviewed the AED 160 million Virtual Corridor Initiative, a new customs procedure that enables a more streamlined movement of goods between two customs centres in Dubai, without any financial burden, helping traders cut their operational costs, thus optimising their business returns.

Involving 35 local government entities, 24 foreign government bodies and five UAE federal government departments for the first time, the three-day Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE 2016) will showcase the achievements and projects of employees and development initiatives.

DGAE is a government initiative that aims to attract local government departments and institutions in Dubai to participate and put on display practical achievements and initiatives. This exhibition comes in line with the UAE Vision 2021 that calls for excellence at the international level. The exhibition promotes the excellence in government work in Dubai providing the best quality services to customers, institutions and individuals alike.

HH lauded the DIGAE as a fitting platform for constructive competition between government entities to improve and elevate their services they provide to customers. By doing so, he added, they save time and effort, make customers more comfortable, and happier and serve national higher interests.
