Stepped up security for Egypt protest

A protest has targeted the home of Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil in Giza’s el-Dokki district, as unemployed graduates petition the leader after not being appointed to the country’s civil service. Demonstrators blocked off roads, carrying signs demanding jobs in Egyptian state departments. Traffic was rerouted away from the area, after local security officials failed to force protesters to abandon the sit-in. "Central Security reinforcements arrived at the Prime Minister's home following an escalation involving the postgraduate students’ sit-in beginning on Wednesday,” an eyewitness told Arabstoday. The latest reports say the road outside Kandil’s el-Dokki home remains closed, with Central Security forces lining the roads to prevent clashes with protesters.
