'Shall I fly with faulty engine?' Pilot asks for a vote

A pilot flying an easyJet flight from Spain to the UK asked his passengers to vote whether he should fly the plane on a faulty engine, according to a report in the Metro.
The travellers had already faced 36 hours of delays when the pilot decided to ask the question. Out of the 150 passengers, only a dozen voted that the pilot should take off. Other passengers panicked and demanded to be let off of the unsafe aircraft.
A Bristol Post report said the pilot told passengers that there would be a '50/50' chance for both engines to work. The pilot was also reported as saying he'd "never done anything like this in 37 years of flying".
The passengers were eventually let off the plane and flown home on another flight later that day.
