The UAE Embassy in London hosted the third edition of the UAE-UK Pioneers Forum on 11th and 12th of March at the Park Plaza Hotel Westminster Bridge.

The Embassy initiative brought together the most prominent Emirati government entities, Emirati companies, and British companies that are seeking to employ bright and ambitious young Emiratis. Now in its third year, the UAE–UK Pioneers Forum is rapidly establishing a reputation for attracting the most competitive businesses and most ambitious, talented, Emirati graduates from the UK and wider Europe.

The event was launched on 11th of March with an opening ceremony dinner, where Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, and Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, were present. Philip Parham, British Ambassador to the UAE was also in attendance. Other representatives from the UAE Ministry of Defence, and Ministry of Interior were also present.

The Minister of State for Higher Education, directing a message to the students, said, "This forum is one of the opportunities provided to you by our nation, providing you a chance to meet representatives from different sectors in order to inform you of the many opportunities available to you and the most suitable for your chosen area of study."

The Minister of Energy officiated at the opening ceremony of the forum on 12th March, then proceeded to take a tour of the exhibitor stands in the exhibition hall. The Minister also held an open discussion followed by a Q&A session about leadership qualities at the student cultural event on Sunday.

He stressed the importance of organising forums such as the UAE-UK Pioneers Forum for Emirati students abroad, and their role in promoting the UAE's national identity and in instilling of the highest sense of belonging and loyalty to the nation and leadership. He also stated that events such as these are a platform to nurture future leadership figures who will make a valuable contribution to their nation’s progress and development.

Abdul Rahman Ghanem Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwee, CVO, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, commended the ongoing success of the UAE-UK Pioneers Forum, stating that not only does this event bring together talented students and the finest organisations in the UAE but is also an opportunity for us to recognise students who have shown excellence in their areas of study. He also expressed his gratitude to Al Mazrouei, and all other participating companies and attending dignitaries for their ongoing support.

Alongside the career fair, the forum also invited students to participate in numerous talks and panel discussions, including a talk by title sponsor, Majid Al Futtaim. Panel discussions covered topics relating to this year’s Pioneers Forum theme: sustainability.

Mouien Al Madhoun, Chief Human Capital Officer at Majid Al Futtaim Holdings, said, "We are proud sponsors of the UAE-UK Pioneers Forum and fully support the government’s vision to inspire Emirati graduates to consider employment opportunities in the UAE’s private sector. At Majid Al Futtaim, not only do we invest in our people, but we aim to develop them into the next generation of leaders who will deliver our vision to ‘create great moments for everyone every day’. We are proud to be part of the UAE’s prosperous future and to provide UAE nationals with a platform to build fulfilling and successful careers."

The event saw the participation of 30 exhibiting companies, from the UAE and the UK.
