UN delegation visiting refugee camps in Turkey

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres arrived here, Thursday, to check on the Syrian refugees' situation, the Turkish news agency Ihlas reported. The UN's Good Will Ambassador, American actress Angelina Jolie, is a member of the delegation visiting Gaziantep Province, southeast Turkey, for stops at the refugee camps. The agency said the delegation would be seeing the state of affairs and conditions of the refugees first hand today before meeting with the Turkish leadership in Ankara on Friday. According to official records, up to 82,000 Syrian refugees crossed the Turkish-Syrian boarders fleeing from the violence and are given shelter in 10 camps mostly in the border Hatay Province.
