
The Arab League organised a farewell ceremony for Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League as he marks the end of his tenure.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Nabil El-Araby, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Ben Helli, Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, and other diplomats.
In his speech on the occasion, Al Dhaheri said, ''I extend thanks and appreciation to Dr. El-Araby for this generous gesture and good invitation.'' He added, ''During these difficult moments and hard times, I would like to thank all of you for your appreciation. I have gained more experience during my tenure to your prestigious league."
He also wished that all aspirations and expectations of the Arab League would be achieved as well as security, safety and stability for the Arab countries.
El-Araby praised the efforts exerted by the UAE diplomat during his tenure, especially in the context of the UAE's chairmanship of the meetings of the Arab League in the past six months.
He also confirmed that the UAE is a role model in scientific and cultural renaissance and enjoys a special position among the Arab countries. Meanwhile, the Arab League Secretary-General presented a souvenir and an Arab League Shield to Al Dhaheri.
