The Arab League (AL) called on Thursday for an end to the suffering of Palestinian prisoners at Israeli jails.
In a press statement on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoners' Day, the pan-Arab body said the file of Palestinian and Arab prisoners at Israeli jails will remain a top priority.
It urged the international community and NOGs to press Israel to release Arab and Palestinian prisoners as soon as possible.
Currently, there are about 7,000 Palestinian prisoners and 480 children behind Israeli bars, the statement added.
