
The consultative meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates, chaired by Bahrain, began here today. The meeting will prepare for the joint meeting with ambassadors of the UN Security Council Member States, scheduled to be held at the Arab League headquarters on 21 May.
The meeting will discuss issues of common interests to the Arab region, including developments in the Palestinian issue as well as the situation in Libya and Somalia along with immigration issues.
Minister Plenipotentiary Yasir Awad, the Charge d'affaires at Qatar's Embassy in Cairo, headed Qatar's delegation at the meeting.
