
An Egyptian popular diplomatic delegation today paid tribute to His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, hailing strong bilateral relations. Head of the delegation veteran journalist Makram Mohammed Ahmed lauded HM the King for affirming Bahrain's unwavering stance in support of Egypt. "The meeting with HM the king reflects strong relations bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt", he said in a press conference convened this evening in Manama. He hailed HM the King for his wise vision and farsighted reading of the current Arab situation. He quoted HM the King saying that any threats endangering Egypt would jeopardise the security of the whole Arab region. The delegation paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for his keenness on Egypt's stability. Prominent cleric Madhar Shaheen, also known as Revolution Khateeb, stressed the crucial role of Egypt and Bahrain in foiling the conspiracy which plotted to change the Arab and Islamic identity of the whole Middle East. Al-Hilal former chairman veteran journalist Abdulqader Shaheeb said that the same forces which tried to carry out their agenda in Egypt also attempted to do so in Bahrain. Addressing the press conference, he stressed his country's dire need for all Arab support and solidarity. The delegation arrived on a three-day visit to express thanks to the Kingdom of Bahrain for supporting Egypt amid post-June 30 developments. Led by veteran journalist Makram Mohammed Ahmed, the delegation includes Mustapha Bakri, Dr. Mohammed Azab, Abdulqader Shaheeb, Dr. Amna Nacir, Margaret Azer, Madhar Shaheen, Safir Nour, Mahmoud Khalaf, Dr. Fakhri Al-Faqeeh, poet Jamal Bakheet, Laila Alwi, Elham Shaheen, Hala Sidqi, Amir Shaheen, May Kassab, Shada and Riham Abdulhakim, Majdi Ahmed Ali, Salah Al-Sharnoubi and singer Midhat Saleh who prepared an operetta dedicated to the people of Bahrain for supporting Egypt.
