Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdullah on Friday said a set of measures will be taken to compensate the floods victims in Ras Gharib city.
In a statement, the governor added the tenants of houses, which are scheduled to be removed, would be compensated by residential units for them and their families within a lease system allowing them to own the units after paying monthly premiums for 30 years.
The non-resident owners will be compensated by residential units upon ownership acts on condition of waiving their affected homes, or helping them to remove their houses and facilitating the issuance of the demolition permit procedures with compensation for damages that occurred during the floods, the governor said.
The resident owners will be compensated by the same alternatives provided for the non-resident owners, or a third alternative by offering them 150-square-meter houses, including 90-square-meter single storey available to be heightened up to three floors on condition of waiving their affected homes, he added.
The governor said alternative accommodations would be provided for the victims until receiving their new homes.
