
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today paid a visit to the Ministry of the Interior, and was received by the Minister of Interior Lt. Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, , Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Chief of Public Security, Governors, Interior's Undersecretaries and a number of senior officers. HM the King met with a number of the Interior's senior officers and officials and congratulated them on Bahrain's Police Day, praising their effort and role in protecting Bahrain's unity, stability and gains and keeping up the safety and security of the citizens and residents. HM the King stressed maintaining security is a national responsibility, and hailed the security force's efforts and sacrifices in defending homeland's security, stability, private and government properties and imposing the law, and pointed out that all security missions shall be carried out according to the law and respecting people's rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Charter and the National Constitution of Bahrain. He urged them to continue implementing construction, training and education programs to keep up with the growing future demands. He hailed the Interior Minister's efforts in developing and upgrading the Interior's institutions in such a short period of time, and the Interior's officers and staff for performing their duties for the happiness and safety of citizens and residents. He spoke about the history of the State of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country and the difficult circumstances associated since its inception in 1783, noting the growing desire of the Bahraini youth to engage in the Interior's security institutions that embodies their national spirit. The Interior Minister, in his speech, welcomed HM the King and noted the Ministry's efforts exerted in establishing a high-level police system able to conform to future demands and in accordance with HM the King's reforms. He recalled the security measures have been taken to address the 2011 regrettable events witnessed by the country, taking into account the democratic approach in compliance with the unprecedented royal order that stipulates the establishment of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry and Ministry's efforts in facilitating its mission, vowing the 2011 regrettable events will not be recurred. He came across the negative foreign policies have faced Bahrain which has had aborted the foreign plans targeted dividing the region and changing its identity, and favoring interests over the joint principles and values. He pointed out the security challenges facing the states and the negative impacts they leave on the society and the movement of development, but thanks to HM the King's wisdom and policy that have maintained Bahrain's unity and sovereignty. He pledged to preserve the homeland's security and stability in line with HM the King's directives and working by law abidance and respecting human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. HM the King was briefed on the development and upgrading of the Interior Ministry's departments and sections to provide better security and humanitarian-oriented services for the citizens and residents.
