
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz granted Egyptian Ambassador in Nouakchott Ahmed Fadel Yaqoub the National Order of Merit in recognition of the role he played in boosting relations between the two countries during his line of duty, The Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ceremony was held at the presidential palace in Nouakchott and was attended by a number of senior officials.
The diplomat expressed appreciation for having this order days before the end of his line of duty, lauding all measures taken by the Mauritanian authorities to render the Arab summit a success.
