The Palestinian High Court of Justice ordered the suspension of the Palestinian municipal elections in the West Bank and Gaza until an undetermined date.
The elections were supposed to take place in 416 locales on October 8.
The High Court’s decision comes in response to a petition submitted by a Palestinian lawyer, Nael al-Houh to suspend the elections because they will not be held in Jerusalem, according to Ma'an News.
The court said it will reconvene on December 21 to discuss the petition.
