Kuwait proactive in bills on patients' rights

Kuwait's Health Minister Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi said here on Wednesday that his country is proactive in the compilation of draf laws that protect patients' rights, boasting that a relevant bill was worked out in Kuwait in May, 2014.
Al-Obaidi made the remark to KUNA at the conclusion of the meeting of Executive Office of the Arab Health Ministers Council here today.
On the meeting, he said it was "fruitful" as participants discussed draft resolutions, set for approval tomorrow during the ministerial meeting, expressing his hope for positive outcomes during the ministerial meeting for the sake of Arab citizens' best interest.
The Kuwaiti Minister noted that several subjects were also discussed during today's meeting, including health situations in Palestine, Arab citizen's health, and mothers and children's health, in addition to other issues regarding addiction and mental health.
The meeting also discussed the Arab anti-AIDS strategy and ways to invest it by activating the workshops that have been approved by the Executive Office, Al-Obaidi said, adding that they could be activated through religious, women, and media leaderships by shedding light on the strategy.
He also pointed out that the Executive Office commended the USD-5-million sum donated by His Highness the Amir and the State of Kuwait to the World Health Organization (WHO) to combat Ebola virus.
