Iran refuses UN nuclear inspections at Parchin military complex

Iran's defence minister said Saturday there was no need for inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit the Parchin military complex, as a similar inspection had already taken place, according to dpa.
'There is currently no need for further inspection,' Defence Minister Hussein Dehghan said, according to the news agency Tasnim. A prior inspection revealed nothing illegal, he added.
Western authorities suspect that Parchin, located 30 kilometres south-east of Tehran, is a site for nuclear testing and development, including for nuclear warheads. The IAEA has long called for access to the facility.
The head of the IAEA, Yukiya Amano, said on his return from a visit to Tehran on Monday that the country was cooperative, and that he would share details of his trip with the IAEA board in September.
