At least six people dead and four others missing in post-storm floods of Typhhon Vicente that swept across Vietnam’s northern areas after passing through China’s Guangdong province, local media said. Thursday evening, authorities have evacuated 90 families in four communes,Tan Linh, Minh Xuan, To Mau and An Lac which had been seriously submerged in floodwater caused by the rising Chay River. Local rescue forces in Lai Chau are searching for the body of an 8-year-old boy, who went missing since Wednesday. Also a 47-year-old man, went missing in Lao Cai Province on Wednesday after being swept away by a flashflood. Meanwhile, in Ha Giang province, a 48-year-old man and his 55- year -old wife, went missing after being swept away by floodwater. Heavy rains also damaged 100 meters of an interprovincial road, brought down seven houses and swept away a bridge in two districts. Authorities are currently planning to evacuate people in heavily flooded areas to safe places.
