Libya mourns victims of doomed EgyptAir flight

Libyan Foreign Ministry expressed Friday its deep sorrow for the crash of EgyptAir flight into the Mediterranean Sea.

In a statement, received by MENA, the Libyan ministry extended its sincere condolences to the Egyptian people and families of the victims.

Fifty-five passengers, including 30 Egyptians, 15 French and 10 of other nationalities along with 10 crew members, were on board the Airbus A320.

Radar lost contact with the flight at 2:45 Cairo local time while it was at an altitude of 37,000 feet.

The flight took off from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris on Wednesday 23:09 Paris local time then disappeared from radar after entering the Egyptian airspace.

Earlier in the day, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that they had found some parts of the plane.

In a statement, the Armed Forces said that personal belongings of passengers and parts of the plane's wreckage had been found some 290 kilometers north of Alexandria city.
