Manama - BNA

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, announced today that tickets to the upcoming Six Hours of Bahrain endurance spectacle will be available at Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall starting Sunday (August 19) next week. At Bahrain City Centre, tickets can be purchased at a special BIC stand located in front of Columbus Café on the ground floor; while at Seef Mall, they can be bought at the Batelco outlet near the West Extension on the first floor. Each location will be open from 4pm to 10pm on Sunday, and then from Monday onwards between 10am and 10pm. The BIC stand at Bahrain City Centre will be open only for five days, after which tickets will also be sold at Bahrain City Centre’s Batelco outlet. The Six Hours of Bahrain is the newest addition to BIC’s action-packed calendar of world-class motor racing events. It will be lighting up the Sakhir track on September 28 and 29 as the sixth of eight rounds in the all-new FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The race will be the first event of its kind ever to take place in the region, and it is widely expected to be a crowd-favourite with the massive field of international racing teams competing. Tickets to the Six Hours of Bahrain cost BD20 per person for both the days of non-stop action. Loads of off-the-track entertainment will also be on hand for the enjoyment of the whole family. Children aged 15 years old and younger will be able to attend for half the price. All ticket-holders will be able to roam around the circuit and watch the racing from two strategically located points, namely the Main Grandstand and the Batelco Grandstand. The Main Grandstand offers the perfect view of BIC’s main straight, the pit lane, the team garages and the winners’ podium; while the Batelco Grandstand allows fans to check out the action taking place on the inner track. Apart from Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall, tickets can also be purchased online at BIC’s official website, www.bahraingp.com. As an additional treat, all those attending the Six Hours of Bahrain will be able to enjoy an Open Paddock experience unique to the WEC. This gives fans the chance to freely walk around the usually restricted paddock area and see everything that goes on behind the scenes. Spectators will be able to get up close to team buildings and watch their favourite teams hard at work in their respective garages. They may also get the chance to meet and greet some of the WEC’s top drivers who will be along the paddock throughout the day. Further, spectators can take advantage of an autograph session to be held along the pit lane. In addition to those attractions, race goers will be able to enjoy plenty of colourful entertainment off of the race track. Located right next to the paddock, the entertainment area will include a main stage where a series of engaging shows will be on hand. There will also be several roaming performers who will be interacting with members of the public such as musicians, stilt walkers and clowns. For young children, they will be able to enjoy a wide variety of rides, while arts-and-crafts stations will bring about their hidden talents and creativity. An array of challenging carnival games will also keep everyone entertained throughout the day, while there will also be live music as well as food and beverage stalls throughout the day for all to enjoy. For more information on the Six Hours of Bahrain, visit www.bahraingp.com or call the circuit hotline on +973-17-450000.
