Sam Burgess admitted he was relieved to finally score his first Bath try in their 39-26 Premiership victory over Wasps on Saturday.
Burgess touched down just after half-time as Bath closed the gap on leaders Northampton to one point.
It was the centre's most effective display since he made his Bath debut six weeks ago following his switch to union from rugby league.
Burgess, who signed a three-year deal with Bath after leaving NRL outfit South Sydney, said: "It was good. I am kind of glad to get the monkey off the back.
"I was happy to get over for the try. George (Ford) found me with a great pass, and I managed to slide over.
"I am improving week to week, and enjoying a bit more time on the field. Overall, I am happy with the way things are going, and there are things to work on, as always.
"I am used to the pressure. I came from quite a high pressure environment in Australia, and I am learning the game week by week, but pressure is fine. I kind of knew that would be the case."
Bath triumphed on the back of tries by Burgess, Francois Louw, Semesa Rokoduguni, Matt Banahan and Ollie Devoto.
Meanwhile, Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea insists Nick Easter could yet play a role in England's 2015 World Cup campaign.
Easter celebrated his 250th appearance for the London club with a man of the match performance in a 32-12 victory over Leicester at Twickenham Stoop.
The 36-year-old won the last of his 47 caps at the 2011 World Cup but some pundits claim he should be recalled against Wales on February 6 as Ben Morgan is set to miss the Six Nations opener with an ankle injury.
"Nick wants to play for England," said O'Shea. "I know (England coach) Stuart Lancaster and we had a good, long chat about it last year.
"If he gets to the end of the season and he's still playing like that, England might take a look at him."
Sale Sharks' director of rugby Steve Diamond is also banging the drum for an England recall for his own exiled star following Danny Cipriani's  excellent display in the 20-7 win over Northampton.
With England coach Lancaster watching on, Diamond insisted that the Sale stand-off should be given an another opportunity with the national team.
"Danny played well but he's been playing well all year. If he doesn't get an opportunity then that's up to the England selectors," he said.
"On the basis of the past three months in the European Cup and the league, he deserves a shot."
