Nucaf Tellicherry helped by solid innings from their top order defeated Yogi Group by 75 runs in the 38th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium on Saturday night. Maqsood hit 55 off 101 balls while Naemuddin Aslam (46 off 62 balls) and Mohammed Yousef (45 off 23 balls) chipped in with some useful scores as Nucaf Tellicherry, batting first, scored a formidable 304. Oshadha Warnapura (40 off 29) and Chauvan (36) also kept the momentum going, putting their side on the front foot. Pagrani snared three wickets, but conceded as many as 74 runs while Shadeeb Khan (two for 20) was the other major wicket-taker. Yogi Group, in reply, were shot out for 229 in 35 overs with Mohammed Afsal doing most of the damage, taking three for 30 runs. Amjad Ali had a fine return of two for 10. Shaimon Anwar led the Yogi Group’s batting charge with a scintillating 67 off 24 balls which included seven fours and five. Salman Faris (27), Baber Rehman (26) and Aehutten (25) were also among runs, but their efforts failed to prevent Nucaf Tellicherry from registering a big victory.
