Thailand\'s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department revealed on Tuesday that 15 of the kingdom\'s 77 provinces have been hit by drought. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department Director-General Wibul Sanguanpong said Tuesday the long period of no rains has affected 6,768 villages in 109 districts of 15 provinces Wibul said the 15 provinces include ten northern ones - Kampaeng Phet, Lampang, Lamphun, Sukhothai, Nan, Phayao, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Uttaradit, and Chiang Rai. The rest are northeastern Loei, two central provinces - Phetchaburi and Suphan Buri - and two eastern provinces - Chanthaburi and Chachoengsao. The country has just recovered from the worst flood crisis in almost 50 years, which killed more than 800 lives and affected more than 10 million people
