
A 5.8-magnitude quake jolted Fukushima Prefecture in northeast Japan Monday at around 5:14 local time with tremor being felt in the country's capital, Tokyo.
The epicenter was initially detected at 37.1 degree of north latitude and 141.2 degree of east longitude, with a depth of 50 kilometers.
The quake was registered at level four at Japan's seismic intensity scale of 7 in some parts of Fukushima, Miyagi and Ibaraki prefectures.
No tsunami warnings were issued and no immediate reports on damage and injuries.
