
A strong 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook southernMexico and the nation’s capital early Saturday, two days after a similar temblorrattled the country.There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries following the quake, whichstruck as people slept at 2:36 am (0736 GMT), prompting some to flee into thestreets.The US Geological Survey said the epicenter was seven kilometers west of Tecpan deGaleana in the southern state of Guerrero, with a depth of 35 kilometers.Mexico’s National Seismology Service had measured it at 6.3 and later revised itdown to 5.9.A6.4-magnitude quake hit the country on Thursday, centered 15 kilometers fromTecpan de Galeana, causing a bridge to collapse in Guerrero but sparing the countryfrom major damage or injuries.
