An earthquake measuring 6.0 points on the Richter scale hit Tajikistan early on Sunday, a source at the Tajik Academy of Sciences geophysical service told (Itar-Tass) news agency. The quake's epicenter was located underground in the territory of the Garmsky region 152 km to the southeast of Dushanbe. The geophysical service reports that powerful tremors were felt everywhere in the republic's eastern part. Tremors measuring 4.0 were registered in Dushanbe. The Tajik Committee for Emergency Situations hasn't received any reports on destruction as of yet.
