
Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, today received a delegation of Board of Directors of the GCC Regional Committee for Electric Systems (GCC CIGRE) led by Chairman Eng. Abdul Mohsen Saleh Mselim. Dr. Mirza welcomed the delegation and praised their efforts in providing electricity transmission service among GCC countries, and reviewed the Electricity and Water Authority's projects have implemented in cooperation with the GCC countries in the fields of electricity, water and renewable energy.GCC CIGRE's delegation invited Electricity and Water Minister to patronize the GCC Cigre Power conference scheduled to be held in November 2014, which is considered an important scientific forum that hosts experts and scholars from various countries of the world in the field of electric power. The previous conference that was held in the United Arab Emirates in 2013 has achieved unprecedented success in accomplishing its desired goals.Electricity and Water Minister welcomed the invitation that the region countries will greatly benefit from, hailing GCC CIGRE's efforts in the field of electric power. The delegation expressed thanks and gratitude to the Electricity and Water Minister for the fine welcome, lauding the high level services provided by the Electricity and Water Authority and the continuing cooperation has been establishing with the GCC countries in the Electricity and water sector.Electricity and Water Authority's Chief Executive Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
