Tension remains high in Emilia-Romagna, where the earth continues to shake after two deadly earthquakes that have claimed 24 lives in the last two weeks. There were 29 aftershocks overnight in the northern region following Tuesday\'s quake, which killed 17 people. Around 13,000 people were left homeless by that disaster in addition to the 6,000 forced into temporary shelters by the quake that hit the same region on May 20 and claimed seven lives. The government approved measures to deal with the emergency in the region on Wednesday, including a two cent increase on petrol duty to help fund relief operations and reconstruction.
