Heavy rain, heat wave hits S. Korea

Central parts of South Korea are still suffering rainfall and a new storm is expected to bring up to 120 millimeters of rain on Monday. Meanwhile, the heat-wave in southern parts of the country is hampering relief efforts after some of the most devastating floods in history. Torrential rainfall has hit central parts of South Korea, including the capital, Seoul. It is forecast that the central parts of the country will receive 30 to 120 millimeters, with southern parts seeing 10 to 60 millimeters. Local authorities have issued an immediate storm emergency alert. Meanwhile, the south of the country has a lingering heat-wave, which has further affected local residents. In Gyeonggi-do Tongducheon city, fridges are out of use due to the floods and food is going off.
