The heaviest snow to hit East China’s Shandong Province this season has blanketed some sections of road by about 30 centimetres. In the coastal city of Weihai, warnings for snowstorms and wind were issued on Saturday. Strong wind and heavy snow reduced visibility in some areas to less than 50 meters. Roads iced up as temperatures plummeted in the evening. In Yantai City, local government took emergency measures to keep traffic in order. More than 6 thousand workers are working day and night to clear snow and ice from the roads. The local meteorological station says small to moderate snow will continue for the next few days.
