The Indian capital was jolted at wee hours Tuesday by an earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale. Witnesses experienced at least one aftershock after being awaken by the quake which took place at around 00:30 a.m. Tuesday. Two other smaller aftershocks were also felt. An India Meteorological Department official said the earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale feels to have its epicenter in the national capital territory. "However, we are still analyzing the data and the epicenter is still not clear," he said. Another tremor of the similar intensity was felt within an hour. "A light aftershock was recorded within an hour's time of the earthquake," the official added.
