An apparent tornado was spotted Tuesday in southern New Jersey as the National Weather Service confirmed a twister hit Delaware a day earlier. Both came as the remnants of Hurricane Isaac, long since downgraded to a depression, brought rain and high wind to the mid-Atlantic region, KYW-TV in Philadelphia reported. Heather Nielsen of Bellmawr, N.J., told WPVI-TV in Philadelphia she and her husband saw what appeared to be a funnel cloud forming. \"We just saw the funnel start and the next thing we know, the wind started picking up; he yelled to get in the house, and the whole house started shaking and trees were flying. It was the scariest thing I\'ve ever witnessed,\" Nielsen said. The weather service planned to send experts to the area Wednesday to examine debris and determine if there was indeed a tornado. NWS meteorologists said the tornado that hit Camden, Del., Monday measured 0 on the Fujita scale, the weakest possible, The News Journal of Wilmington reported. But its 85-mph winds were strong enough to make six houses in a development uninhabitable because of structural damage. Isaac has been a slow-moving storm throughout its life, lingering in the mid-Atlantic region as it did in the Mississippi Valley and the Gulf Coast.
