Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Tuesday dismissed chief of subway network Ivan Besedin following a train accident earlier this month that killed 20 people and injured several others.
Former railway official Dmitry Pegov replaces Besedin, according to a Russian news agency report today.
The train crash on July 15 undermines the major system and technical up gradation work done over the last decade as well as increasing employees' salaries, Mayor Sobyanin told a Moscow Municipal Council meeting this morning.
