
The Russian government will provide 12 billion roubles to assist to residents of the flood-hit Far East, vice-premier and plenipotentiary representative to the Far Eastern District Yuri Trutnev said. “The government is discussing the situation in the flood-hit Far East. Today the cabinet of ministers has taken a decision to provide 12 billion roubles to the region,” Trutnev said. The funding will be used to provide material aid, to conduct rescue and recovery operations and to finance temporary accommodation centres, the vice-premier said, adding that the government would rivet attention to assisting to people and restoring the infrastructure. A special mechanism will be created for this purpose, Trutnev said. Commenting on the amount of the damage, caused by the flood to the Far East, the vice-premier said it was difficult to give any assessment. In order to give a concrete reply it is necessary to make up lists on every area and every family, he said.
