Showers of perseid meteors in Kuwait's skies this week

Astronomer Adel Al-Saadoun said Tuesday that showers of Perseid Meteors would be seen in the skies of Kuwait this week.
Al-Saadoun was quoted by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) as saying that the meteors were called Perseids as they are seen in the constellation of Perseus.
He said that the rate of these showers is between 50-100 meteors an hour, explaining that the meteors are a result of Comet Swift-Tuttle, which approaches the Sun once every 120 years, leaving behind space debris and other gases.
He pointed out that when Planet Earth comes close to these gases and debris, it attracts them.
The best time to watch these meteors is at 9:00 p.m. (local time) on August 10, he added.
