A magnitude 5.5 earthquake near the southern Iranian city of Minab was felt in northern United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday without causing any human losses, local news agency WAM reported. On Sunday afternoon, WAM alerted citizens in the UAE about the latest Iranian quake via social media. According to Iranian media reports, the earthquake was an apparent aftershock of a magnitude 6.6 earthquake that occurred on early Saturday. No damage or human losses were caused in the UAE, which shares the Gulf waters with Iran. In recent months, the UAE was jolted by several earthquakes that happened in Iran and Pakistan.
