
Till now, dredgers at the New Suez Canal have lifted 179.2 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand, which represents 69.5 percent of the sand to be lifted.
In statements on Friday, executive director of the dredging work Wagdy Zaky said 39 dredgers in the venture managed to lift 1.507 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand on Thursday.
As many as 23 dredgers affiliated to the UAE-Belgium-Dutch consortium lifted 129.838 million cubic meters of sand, he underscored.
