
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab met separately on Saturday with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Secretary General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Sindiso Ngwenya.
The meetings came on the sidelines of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) which is being held in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.
Mahlab welcomed his Lebanese counterpart Tammam Salam and the accompanying delegation, stressing the deeply rooted relations between the two countries.
The Egyptian premier said that the Arab support to Egypt confirms that the Arab family is "good" at the regional level and that the conference is a proof that Egypt is on the right path.
For his part, the Lebanese prime minister said that Lebanese investors have huge investments in Egypt, voicing his happiness to take part in the conference.
Mahlab also met with COMESA Chief Sindiso Ngwenya.
During the meeting, Ngwenya briefed Mahlab on the ongoing preparations for the COMESA summit and the COMESA's activities and projects.
He lauded President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's speech before the conference.
