Two Algerian-French joint ventures in beef and cereal sectors will be created shortly, announced Wednesday in Algiers Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Abdelouahab Nouri.
“We are about to create two joint ventures in beef and cereal industries, allowing the transmission of the French know-how in these fields to Algeria,” said Nouri on the sidelines of a meeting with the French Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Forestry Stephane Le Foll.
The agreements for the creation of these two joint ventures will be signed during the next meeting of the French-Algerian economic joint committee (Comefa).
The first joint venture will be created, according to the rule 51/49% of the capital, between SGP Proda/Onliev on the Algerian side and Interbev on the French side, in the fields of cattle breeding and fattening, slaughtering, first transformation and marketing.
The second joint ventures will be created between the Algerian Inter-professional Cereals Office (OAIC) and the French group Axereal for the production of seeds of cereals and legumes.
