Jaguar Land Rover's proposed new car production plant near Nitra in Western Slovakia could create between 2,000 and 4,000 new jobs, according to an investment proposal released on Wednesday.
The predicted job creation does not include jobs which would be created from secondary employment in the supplier chain, services and logistics, said the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO).
The expected investment costs are expected to reach more than 1 billion euros (1.1 billion U.S. dollars). Construction work on the new plant could begin in 2016, with production launched in 2018 or 2019 should the Slovak government approve the decision to build. A decision is expected by year's end
