
Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met Elizabeth Littlefield, the CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), in the presence of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mohammad Hamed.
Littlefield briefed the premier on the OPIC's activities and programs in Jordan where it supports and ensures access to loans for small and medium projects. She said the organization is financing the $125 million fourth private electricity generation project, which is expected to be inaugurated tomorrow.
Ensour praised the efforts made by the company, stressing that the government was implementing priority projects dealing with energy, renewable energy, water and small and medium enterprises that contribute to overall national development, besides generating jobs for Jordanians.
