The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) transferred to the Treasury account the second installment, its final payment, amounting to $57 million out of a total of $184 million, of the regular US monetary grant it had allocated to support the public budget of 2014, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation said on Tuesday.
The first payment, which amounted to $127 million, was transferred at the end of last year, according to the grant agreement signed with USAID last September.
US economic aid committed to Jordan last year reached $633.2 million, including $436 million in the form of support for last year's budget by regular and supplementary US monetary grants and an allocation of some $197.2 million to support projects and programs in key sectors that are being implemented by USAID and the concerned ministries.
