Kuwait has offered the UNRWA USD 2 million as part of the country's annual support to the agency.
Kuwait's ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al-Duaij handed over the contribution to UNRWA Deputy Commissioner-General Sandra Mitchell during a meeting at the embassy building in Amman.
This is part of Kuwait's efforts to support Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering, at the behest of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, ambassador Al-Duaij told KUNA.
He commended the UNRWA's hard efforts to provide the basic needs of the Palestinian people.
For her part, the UNRWA's senior official expressed gratitude to Kuwait for the contribution that helps the agency carry on offering services to Palestinian refugees.
She said that Kuwait is among the biggest contributors to the agency, saying it has also hosted international conferences for Syria donors.
His Highness the Amir offered USD 35 million to the UNRWA in 2009.
