The number of people registered as unemployed in Spain fell by 1.33 percent in March, which meant 60,124 people have found their jobs in the month, according to data published by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security on Monday.
About 4,452,000 people were unemployed in March, which meant a 7.17 percent fall on a year-on-year basis, according to a press release from the ministry.
The ministry said unemployment fell by 8,847 people in the construction sector, by 6,893 people in the industry sector and by 4,061 people in the agriculture sector.
Meanwhile, unemployment in the services sector fell significantly by 49,024 people, thanks to tourism increases in Spain during Easter, when businesses, especially the hotel industry, have to recruit more workers.
The number of jobless men fell by 37,196 people in March to 2,080,784, the Ministry said, while the number of unemployed women fell by 23,018 to 2,371,155.
"I am very happy with unemployment and Social Security data of March", Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in an interview on a local radio station.
