
FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday closed at 6828.54 points, down 30.41 points or 0.44 percent.
Share price of Taylor Wimpey increased by 3.52 percent to top the gainers of the blue chips. Other best performers included Barratt Developments (2.84 percent), Persimmon (2.63 percent), Berkeley Group Holdings (2.53 percent), and Capita (2.07 percent).
Fresnillo led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.88 percent, followed by Anglo American (4.02 percent), Randgold Resources (3.95 percent), Antofagasta Holdings (3.45 percent), and Rio Tinto (2.43 percent).
