
U.S. Stocks closed mostly lower Friday, giving up some of the gains from a day earlier when the major U.S. indexes closed at record highs.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 37.05 points, or 0.2 percent, to 18,576.47.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index slipped 1.74 points, or 0.1 percent, to 2,184.05.
The Nasdaq added 4.50 points, or 0.1 percent, to 5,232.89.
